transitions are hard

Sometimes with
the bones of the black
sticks left when the fire
has gone out

someone has written
something new
in the ashes
of your life.

You are not leaving.
Even as the light
fades quickly.
You are arriving.

this is an old one that has never sold and it always amazes me because I love it and I feel like this about 75 percent of my right now, on Friday (when I suppose you are intended to feel light and gay, who the hell knows?)

At the request of a critic (who shall remain nameless)(edithwarhol) I am stopping right here and not "putting too much stuff" in this painting.  "I love you just the way you are."  Busy day for an out of work artist/actor/gopher. Stay cool.  It's steamin' out there baby.

Feeling blue in the Big City, she encountered sweetness and was tickled pink....miracles can happen. Even when the miracle is as simple as a lift in spirits. Well, it's not simple, that. But still it can happen. It WILL HAPPEN TO ME

Yesterday ended up being all about Casey Anthony, 25 year old accused of killing her daughter Caley. She was exonerated except for 4 counts of lying to police. The media erupted! I awoke in the night thinking about it and again this morning. Next week it will be something else, maybe not quite as big as this. This is something akin to the proportion of the OJ Simpson verdict. What would these stories be w/o the media we have today? It seems everyone is an expert, and everyone wants a job on television talking about other people rather than the job they trained to do. So many attorneys jump from the courtroom to the tube....and renegade senators....and winners of Survivor contests on reality TV....real journalism is practically obsolete. And if you don't have the looks required for US TV, no problem, just get a new face a la Greta Van Susteren.

So my post for today must be: ta da! HUDDLED MASSES
