Yesterday ended up being all about Casey Anthony, 25 year old accused of killing her daughter Caley. She was exonerated except for 4 counts of lying to police. The media erupted! I awoke in the night thinking about it and again this morning. Next week it will be something else, maybe not quite as big as this. This is something akin to the proportion of the OJ Simpson verdict. What would these stories be w/o the media we have today? It seems everyone is an expert, and everyone wants a job on television talking about other people rather than the job they trained to do. So many attorneys jump from the courtroom to the tube....and renegade senators....and winners of Survivor contests on reality TV....real journalism is practically obsolete. And if you don't have the looks required for US TV, no problem, just get a new face a la Greta Van Susteren.
